Reasons To Buy A Wooden Shed

When it comes to sheds, whilst you can buy plastic or metal ones, the main material that they are made out of is wood, there are a few key reasons why wooden sheds are so popular, yet metal or plastic sheds have their own key advantages, and disadvantages over wood.

Metal sheds are light in weight, and are thus easy to move and assemble, if the galvanized powder coated panels are not scratched or cut, then they can last for years with no painting or maintenance required. However they are not as strong in high winds as a wooden shed, nor are they as versatile as wood, as any cuts or holes in the metal will result in rust.

Plastic sheds tend to be small in size, although full size plastic sheds are now available, they require virtually no maintenance at all as they do not need painting, they never rust and are scratch resistant. Plastic sheds do have more insulating properties than metal sheds and out of all three materials, will probably be the most waterproof of all.

So this brings us back to the ever popular wooden garden sheds, and it is the most popular for numerous reasons. Firstly it is made of natural materials and as such looks far more in keeping in a garden than a metal or plastic shed. Secondly whilst it may need wood treatment from time to time, they weather well and do not rust, also the fact that they can be painted means that you can have one in any colour that you want.

Being made of wood they are also very well insulated, and their construction means that they can easily have further insulated panels added internally without compromising the external structure. Their construction also means that they can have electrics in terms of power sockets and lights added easily and safely.

They are also very strong and resistant to wind, rain and snow. Also being made of wood means that they can be made in virtually any size that you want.
